Currently, SparkReceipt does not support processing password-protected or encrypted documents.

If you upload an encrypted file (such as a locked PDF), the system will not be able to extract its contents. To ensure proper data extraction and classification, please remove any password protection before uploading.

🔒 Why Encrypted Files Are Not Supported

  • SparkReceipt’s document processing tools rely on accessing the contents of your files.

  • Encryption or password protection blocks AI extraction and OCR.

  • For security reasons, SparkReceipt does not attempt to bypass or crack encryption.

📥 Step-by-Step Checklist: Preparing Files for Upload

  1. Check if your document (e.g. bank statement PDF) is password-protected

  2. If it is, open it in your PDF viewer (e.g. Adobe Acrobat or Preview)

  3. Use “Save As” or “Export” to create a new, unprotected version

  4. Ensure the new file opens without a password

  5. Upload the unprotected file to SparkReceipt

  6. Let SparkReceipt extract, categorize, and store the document as usual

🛡️ You are still in full control — SparkReceipt stores all files securely once uploaded.
