Yes. SparkReceipt gives you two ways to get bank and credit-card transactions in, and both land in the same Transaction Manager where they're categorized and matched to your receipts:
Option 1: Connect the account
You can connect a bank or credit-card account so transactions import automatically, with no files to upload. You authorize the connection once through our bank-linking partners (Stripe Financial Connections for US banks, Plaid for Canadian banks and the wider bank search), and new transactions flow in on their own from then on.
- Countries: banks in the United States and Canada. The My bank isn't listed option searches a second partner's list of banks in your account's country. Outside the US and Canada, bank connections generally aren't available.
- Plans: the Free plan includes no bank connections, Pro includes 1 and Elite includes 10.
- Who: connecting is done by an administrator or Accountant on the account.
For the full walkthrough, see Connect a bank account for automatic transaction imports. Payment apps such as Venmo, PayPal or Wise, POS systems and online stores can't be connected. See Which banks and apps can I connect to SparkReceipt?.
Option 2: Upload a statement
You can also upload a bank or credit-card statement as a PDF, CSV, or Excel file, and SparkReceipt extracts every transaction automatically. This works with any bank in any country, with no setup:
- In the web app sidebar, click Add documents and choose Bank or credit card statement.
- Upload the statement file.
- SparkReceipt extracts each transaction, so there's no manual entry.
- The transactions are matched against your existing receipts and invoices by date, amount, and merchant.
Which should I use?
Connect the accounts your bank and plan support for hands-off imports, and upload statements for anything else. If you both connect an account and upload a statement covering the same transactions, SparkReceipt detects the overlap and keeps a single copy.
