Can monthly credits be used to scan more documents or receipts?

Yes — once your plan's monthly document quota is used up, further scans are paid for automatically from your credits at 10 credits per document.

Yes. Your plan includes a monthly allowance of document scans. Once that allowance is used up, SparkReceipt keeps scanning and takes the cost from your credits instead — 10 credits per document. (Some plans include unlimited scanning, in which case you never reach this point.)

How it works

Every scan is charged in this order:

  1. Your monthly document quota is used first. While you have quota left, scanning costs no credits at all.
  2. Once the quota is gone, credits are used — 10 per document. This happens automatically, with no prompt or confirmation step, so uploading doesn't stop when you hit your quota.
  3. Renewable credits are spent before extra credits. Your monthly renewable credits go first; any extra credits you've purchased are only touched once those run out.

If both your quota and your credits are exhausted, the scan is refused rather than half-processed — you'll get an error telling you the quota and credits are depleted, and the document isn't scanned. Nothing is silently lost; you just need more credits or a new month.

Where to check what you have left

Your current document allowance and credit balance are shown on your subscription screen — Subscription & Billing in the web app, or the subscription section in the mobile app. That's the authoritative view of your own allowances: the plans offered differ between the mobile apps and the web app, so it's more reliable than any number quoted in an article.

Getting more

You have two options when you run low:

  • Wait for the renewal. Renewable credits and your document allowance both renew every month. Unused renewable credits don't roll over.
  • Buy an extra credit pack from Subscription & Billing. Extra credits never expire, and they're used only after your monthly renewable credits are gone.

Upgrading your plan also raises both the monthly document quota and the monthly credit allowance.
