How you request a refund depends on where you purchased your subscription. Web purchases are handled by SparkReceipt support, Google Play purchases follow Google's refund process, and App Store purchases are decided entirely by Apple. The full policy is in our Terms of Service (section 9) — this article summarizes it.
Before requesting a refund: if your goal is simply to stop future charges, you may only need to cancel your subscription. Cancelling stops renewals while letting you use the time you have already paid for.
If you subscribed on the web
Email support@sparkreceipt.com from the email address on your SparkReceipt account and include your order details. Support will review your request against the refund policy.
Forgot to cancel your free trial? This is the most common case, and it has a clear policy: if your trial converted into a paid subscription, you can request a refund within 15 days of the first charge. You get back 90% of the subscription price, minus a small fee (US $0.15) per document processed after the trial ended — the deduction covers the payment-processing and AI-scanning costs already spent on your account.
For anything else — an unexpected renewal, a double charge, or any other billing problem — just contact support with the details and we will sort it out case by case.
If you subscribed on Android (Google Play)
Google Play refunds follow Google Play's refund policies:
- Open the Google Play Store and go to your order history.
- Locate the SparkReceipt transaction and, if it is eligible, select Refund.
- Alternatively, contact support@sparkreceipt.com with your Google account details and we will initiate the refund process for you.
Refund eligibility on Google Play is subject to Google's policies — SparkReceipt cannot override Google's final decision.
If you subscribed on iPhone or iPad (App Store)
Apple handles all refunds for App Store purchases itself — SparkReceipt cannot process or influence them. To request a refund from Apple:
- Open the App Store and tap your profile.
- Go to Purchase History, find the SparkReceipt transaction, and select Report a Problem.
- Choose the reason for your refund and submit the request through Apple's process.
You can also request it directly at reportaproblem.apple.com. For details, see Apple's guide: Request a refund for apps or content you bought from Apple.
How long refunds take
Refunds for web purchases are processed by our billing partner after support approves them; the money typically appears on your statement within a few business days, depending on your bank. Apple and Google refunds follow their own timelines.
